its all about the stories and the moments
Hello there, I’m Tracy, a mum, daughter, sister, aunt and a portrait photographer.
I was blessed with only one hand, I say blessed because it has given me so many remarkable opportunities in my life. At the age of 16, I represented Australia at the Disabled Olympics in New York, USA. Upon returning, I spoke at many functions and got to meet amazing people and most importantly, hear their stories. Everyone has a story to tell…
I am a breast cancer survivor. In 2019, I was diagnosed with Early breast cancer. This cancer was found in a routine mammogram. I am so fortunate to have the love and support of my husband, son and family. During my treatment, I spoke to lots of beautiful women and men going through many different cancer battles, their stories were courageous and amazing. I urge all women & men – please have regular mammograms.
Sounds cliché but I’ve always had a camera in my hand. I loved being offered to take photos on my Grandparents camera. Grandma was our “family memory keeper” & had a knack for cutting off heads or important parts of the photo. The long wait to get the film back from the photo lab was worth it. Some in focus, some not & many with heads missing, it was all random & I loved to see them all. I loved being “trusted” with the camera when I went on adventures & later when I was in my teens to have a camera of my own was gold! Fast forward a few years when a dear friend gave me my first SLR to play with a Pentax MX & Pentax ME super & a John Hedgecoe Book to learn from. My little world of point & shoot style cameras had been blown apart & in came world of creativity & a passion ignited. (plus an empty bank account due to photo processing & endless patience for waiting for them to come back!) After that I became a Canon girl & haven’t looked back. My family laugh at my inability to take photos on my phone camera but I maintain it’s not the same as holding a beautiful SLR/DSLR & now mirrorless camera & finding the light & adjusting apertures & shutter speeds.
I’ve studied, read, attended & viewed different books courses & photography icons. I’ve attended workshops for photography, posing, lighting & business. I have 50 years of love for photography. I love allowing people to shine & breathe in their photos, to get them to see their own energy & strength & beauty. I’ve had my own business for over 10 years, my own dedicated studio for 6 years & still going! Still learning, attending workshops & being connected to the industry.
I know how busy a mum can be and that we are the ones always behind the camera not in front of it…. I would love to create cherished moments for you that last a lifetime. I am a memory keeper, taking photos to preserve special moments and documenting life in images that will last many generations to come. It’s my job to gently guide you through a portrait session and create photographs that you will cherish and love.
So how would you love to be photographed? What’s your style or story? Let’s photograph you in your own unique way.
I’d love to chat to you more about creating some beautiful portraits or Wall Art for you and your family. Please feel free to call or email me for further information on 0418 107608.
